Hands-On Technical Assistance

Hands-On Technical Assistance2018-06-08T18:15:05+00:00

Hands-on technical assistance is available for individuals or teams who would like guidance and expertise for implementing specific assistive technology tools.  This service is designed to support educators with customization of assistive technology and equip them with a clear plan for successful implementation.

A SETC staff member will meet with an individual or school team to create a customized plan for implementation of desired technology.  This involves a working session focused on making meaningful application of AT accommodations.  This service can be focused on implementation for an individual student or classroom.

A Hands-on Technical Assistance can be conducted at a SETC site (Ellensburg, Federal Way or Spokane), at a school site or online.  Initial planning for the session and follow-up will occur online to minimize SETC and district travel.

  • $75/hour for one SETC staff member (3 hour minimum)
  • $150/hour for two SETC staff members (3 hour minimum)

If related to an individual student, A Hands-On Technical Assistance may be attended by staff members, family members and/or the student. It is expected that all attending the session will have the same student-centered needs in mind and that all will come with a basic understanding of how the technology works. In some cases, it may be necessary to take an introductory training before attending a Hands-on Technical Assistance.

If you need assistance selecting appropriate technology solutions for a student or classroom, an informal or formal Consultation with a SETC staff member is recommended prior to scheduling a Hands-on Technical Assistance session.
